Morihata Karmi Wooden Tea Canister, Tawara Sumi (Black)
A thoroughly modern take on a centuries-old craft.
The Karmi collection of tea canisters from Gato is a series of airtight and handcrafted vessels made in the tradition of Yamanaka lacquerware. Each container is crafted from solid Cherry Birch that has been meticulously dried before being expertly turned by a craftsman. Layers of lacquer are applied and dried in a process that takes up to a year to complete. The result is a seemingly machined container that keeps tea leaves, coffee, and spices fresh and ready for enjoyment. Winner of the Good Design Award in 2010.
This style features a second inner lid to keep things secure. Holds 100g.
